About

A site you can throw away

The page you are reading is deliberately generic. Its only job is to be a believable public website that is served through the same edge proxy as the rest of the infrastructure.

How to replace it

  1. Edit the files in docker/placeholder/site/.
  2. Run ./scripts/update.sh (or rebuild the placeholder image).
  3. Keep 404.html, a favicon and a stylesheet so the site stays complete.

There is no database, no server-side rendering and no build pipeline. Any static site generator can produce these files, and any static file server can replace nginx if you prefer.

Why a placeholder at all?

A domain that answers every request with the same generic page is harder to fingerprint than one that exposes a bare proxy or an empty default page. This site is intentionally independent from the relay: it can be swapped, translated or removed without touching the network configuration.

No credentials are collected

The sign-in card on the home page is a visual demonstration. Its script never calls fetch, never writes to storage and clears the password field immediately after submission. Do not turn it into a real login form without adding a proper backend, TLS, rate limiting and password hashing.
